Burt's Bees is a line of products made here in the United States. They are even a little closer to home for me because they are made in Durham, North Carolina. Here is a little bit about their story. Next time you consider purchasing lip balm, lotion, or any other naturally made skin/body/hair care item...check out Burt's Bees! They are also environmentally friendly, another great perk!
I don't claim to be a person who knows a ton about the government, history, or economics. What I do know is that I love purchasing items that say Made in the U.S.A. on them. Everything in our home is not currently manufactured in the States, but someday, I hope that it will be. Part of doing this research is to learn for my own family how I can help support our local economy. I really enjoy finding products that have great American stories behind them. If a product is manufactured here then that means American workers have a job, they get a paycheck, they become consumers, and in turn help our economy keep going strong.
Adam and I have been going through Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover since before we got married. In order to get out of debt you have to decrease spending and raise income. You have to have a job to raise your income. Getting out of debt frees up the income we do have to become wise consumers later. As wise consumers then we can purchase products made here and it's a full circle! Help out your fellow Americans by buying products made here!

Welcome!
Thanks for checking out my new site. Let me introduce myself. I am a North Carolina native, a graduate of N.C. State University (go Wolfpack!), a wife, and a working girl. I'm a Christian and I am definitely proud to be an American!
With the economy struggling and so many Americans out of work, I have been trying to come up with ideas on how to help out. I was unemployed for some time last year and my husband was without work for 3 months. We know what it's like to be up to our eyeballs in payments and debts and nothing coming in. Thankfully, that season of life has changed for right now and we are both working.
Recently, I was looking to buy some new face wash and moisturizer. I remembered that one of the products I used was Made in the U.S.A. I immediately decided I was going to go back to using that product. Then a few days later I was looking for some lotion, and purchased a product that was Made in the U.S.A. over one that wasn't. There's also a new song out by Toby Keith with the words "spend a little more in the store for a tag in the back that says U.S.A.!" That song has changed my perspective on what I buy and the impact it can have.
All this got me to thinking....if we can purchase products made here, we can help our economy. Now, I realize this is not some new epiphany :) I also know that anything I can do to help is worth going for! I will be highlighting companies that make products here in our great country, the United States of America! If you have any that you love, please feel free to email me or leave a comment.
The first one I am going to tell you about is Dooney and Bourke. They make handbags and they are fabulous! The one that I have had for years is still going strong, still stylish, and now I am even more proud to carry it realizing it is Made in the U.S.A.!
Join me in Made in U.S.A. Pride! Start paying attention to what you are purchasing and let's help create jobs for people here. Together, we can make an impact!
Stay tuned for what's next! This video makes me so proud of Dooney and Bourke for keeping jobs here! Thank you!
